SRC Infrastructure secured a two-year rolling contract to support Rail for London Infrastructure (RFLI) in preparing, assessing and licencing their Maintenance Engineers and Operatives to fulfil their maintenance tasks in support of the safe operation of the Elizabeth Line.

The assessment and licencing of the entire Elizabeth Line E&M and Signalling Maintenance Workforce was essential to the timely opening of the line for passenger service. SRC Infrastructure has significant domain expertise in rail engineering systems as well as training and competency assessment in the rail environment. SRC’s 15-year experience of training, competency assessment and Licencing of safety critical tasks in the rail environment having first established the capability in 2005 to support London Underground’s Central Line Engineering with the introduction of Investors in people, their licencing scheme and the training, assessment and competency licencing of their Duty Engineering Capability in their Line Control Function and more recently providing E&M System Training to the 4LM Control Room Engineers.

SRC Infrastructure combined our Elizabeth Line Engineering System Domain Expertise with our Competency Assessment Capability through our IRSE Licenced Assessors to produce the assessment material and deliver a programme of assessments in a demanding timeframe to support the timely opening of the Elizabeth Line.

Taran Panchal, Project Manager at SRC Infrastructure says “I am immensely proud of SRC Infrastructures work on parallel programmes accepting the Elizabeth Lines Assets and Systems into Operational Use and getting the Elizabeth Lines Maintenance Workforce ready to operate and maintain them safely. I get a huge amount of satisfaction traveling on the newly opened line knowing the maintenance staff have the right skills and competencies to operate it safely.”

SRC Infrastructure gained significant domain expertise of the Elizabeth Line Engineering Systems, Operational and Maintenance Procedures within our role as an Engineering Delivery Partner to TfL supporting LUCT with the transfer and acceptance of the Elizabeth Line Engineering Systems into Operational use. Through the delivery of this programme of works SRC Infrastructure have developed a partnership with the National Skills Academy for Rail (NSAR) to further strengthen our capability in this area with a view to becoming the partners of choice to all UK Rail Infrastructure Operators in the UK.
